Theme Specific Stamps - Great Tennis Players

The game of tennis is perhaps the most liked sport after football around the world. Each year tennis is watched whenever or wherever it is played by a vast majority of sports spectators and fans.

The major tennis events are the four Grand Slam tournaments: The Australian Open, the French Open, also called Roland Garros, the Wimbledon and the US Open. In between these four tournaments which are spread all over the year, there are many smaller events that act as a chain to connect one Grand Slam to another.

Over a period of time, the game of tennis has produced some of the most honoured and remembered players that cling to the memories of the tennis lovers all over the world. When I first got exposed to tennis and started playing it in the 70s, names like Rod Laver, Ilie Năstase, John Newcombe, Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe and Stan Smith were in the air. The names like Jimmy Connors, who along with Chris Everet made headlines when the duo won the Wimbledon. Later names like Andre Agassi, Pete Sampress, Boris Becker and many others got added. Now names like Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Roddick, Andy Murray and others are on the top table positions.

On the women side great names like Margaret Court, Tracy Austin, Virginia Wade, Billie Jean King, Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert, Steffi Graf,  and now names like Azarenka, Sharapova, Serena Williams, Na Li are on everyone's list.

To honour these great players, many countries have published postage stamps bearing the portraits of some of these players and am sharing some of these stamps from countries across the globe:

If you have some stamps related to tennis, do share with me so I could add these here to make the list more comprehensive - worthy of honour the great tennis players of history so rightly deserve.

NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory looks at sun differently

Nasa's Solar Dynamics Observatory is an 'eye' in space focused on the sun - but its scientists have found an all-new way of looking at the star that gives our planet heat and life.

Don't be deceived by the calming blues and browns - the boiling surface of the star is around 600,000 degrees centigrade, just viewed through a wavelength that highlights the constant activity.

'There's no science behind it,' says Scott Wiesinger of Goddard Space Flight Centre, 'But it looks very pretty.'

iPad 3,3 Jailbreak Support Added In Upcoming Absinthe Jailbreak

With the Absinthe jailbreak for iOS 5.1.1 running devices (both A4 and A5) coming this week, po2dg has announced that jailbreak support for iPad 3,3 will also be included in the upcoming Absinthe jailbreak.
OK just added iPad3,3 support to Absinthe thanks to @flawlessfox. Only remains iPad2,4 now but we need the actual device.
Any people of #HITB2012AMS has an iPad2,4? Model number: either MC954 or MC989. Please check in Settings / General / About
Pod2g, MuscleNerd, and several other iOS hackers are in Amsterdam at the Hack In The Box conference in which they’ll disclose more info regarding jailbreak. With only one device left to add to Absinthe 2.0, it looks like we could very well see the 5.1.1 jailbreak drop this week. There’s even talk that the Chronic Dev Team and company might release it Friday, during the Dream Team’s HITB keynote.
Lets see if the jailbreak comes as early as this Friday or not.

NVIDIA unveils GeForce GTX 670

Good news for the gadget and gaming hobbyists!!

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670

NVIDIA has unveiled the third GPU in the GeForce GTX 600 series — the GeForce GTX 670. This new GPU brings the 28 nanometer Kepler architecture to gamers at a significantly lower price point than the either GeForce GTX 680 or dual-GPU GeForce GTX 690.
The GeForce GTX 670 comes with a $399 price tag, compared to around $500 for the GeForce GTX 680 or $1,000 for the GeForce GTX 690. For this reduction in price, you do have to put up with 192 fewer CUDA cores, and a graphics core clocked at only 915MHz.
On the upside, you still get 2GB of GDDR5 RAM and all the benefits that the Kepler architecture has to offer, including GPU Boost technology that automatically overclocks the GPU to get the best performance possible. GPU Boost technology allows the GPU to deliver the highest possible in-game frame-rates while keeping the GPU within thermal limits.

Two Big Vulnerabilities Found For iOS 5.1 Jailbreak

After a short period of 11 days, we’ve got another update regarding the status of iOS 5.1 jailbreak . Pod2g just tweeted that he had “a productive weekend,” reportedly finding “2 big vulnerabilities. 1 kernel land and 1 root land.”
This report also comes just after 5 days after the renowned hacker posted a poll regarding the jailbreak release of iOS 5.1 jailbreak. Just to refresh your memory, he posed the question that whether he should pay full attention towards iOS 5.1 jailbreak or iOS 6 jailbreak.
Never the less, the hacker still spent his weekend finding more exploits for iOS 5.1 jailbreak in which he was quite successful. Talking about that poll, users still have 2 days to voice their opinions, the current results are in favor of iOS 5.1 jailbreak as  84,269 (or 61% of the voters) believe that hackers should continue work on iOS 5.1.
Responding to this poll is a vital phase of jailbreak development even though the results at the moment reveals everything. While there’s still no word on any kind of ETA, the hacker seems to be making considerable amount of progress regarding the jailbreak of iOS 5.1.
Since jailbreak users are afraid that jailbreaking iOS 6 might be a huge challenge and since pod2g has already made some progress regarding the iOs 5.1 jailbreak, the majority of users voted in favor of iOS 5.1 jailbreak, which makes one thing quite certain, that the hacker will continue working on iOS 5.1 jailbreak. We’ll keep you posted when we have more update on the matter.

iCleaner: Free up your iPhone memory by deleting unwanted files

Fixed memory device gadget owners are always lamenting of shortage of space, specially when it comes to mobile telephones. One really has to make a decision regarding storage of in-numerous contact numbers / addresses, besides photos and files. And iPhone is certainly no exception.

For the iPhone users, a new jailbreak tweak has landed in Cydia by the name of iCleaner  which handles the cleaning job more effectively and efficiently.
This Cydia tweak developed by Exile.90, works like much CCleaner on Windows, which get rids of unnecessary data, which you can use to install more games store music.
The iCleaner is best suited to remove half-downloaded Cydia packages, older cache files and cookies forming a plaque-like mass off needlessness within your Mobile Safari app. You can also manually choose the apps to which you feel like need doesn't need any cleaning, like Facebook or Twitter.
To run the iCleaner, simply type “iCleaner” (without the quote marks), and you’ll see some options. The first option will analyze your apps, the second will clean them up. iCleaner is free, and available to download over at the BigBoss repository.
