Download Jelly Bean Keyboard for ICS Android Devices

After the launch of the Jelly Beans, Google has further improved its Jelly Bean with default keyboard providing better reliability and performance in terms of predictive text, to match the performance of third party keyboard apps like Swiftkey.

Judging by the rate at which ICS was made available to non-Google Android smartphones, Jelly Bean would take long to reach your phone - but thanks to the recently released  AOSP version of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean by ICS Browser+, the brand new Jelly Bean flavored keyboard has been ported to devices running ICS.

However, due to the fact that this is not an official Google release and since it was developed in a very short time, Jelly Bean Keyboard is currently in alpha stage. Following are the things on which you’ll face problems :-

  • User dictionary doesn't work on ICS (adding words will cause a fc)
  • Only English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil) and Russian supported
  • Full word prediction and auto correction of missing spaces only supported for English.

Even though users reviews and general feedback on the Jelly Bean keyboard are quite positive so far in terms of Text Predictions being better than the ICS version, they aren’t as accurate when compared to famous third-party app like Swift-key.

Jelly Bean Keyboard is available for all Android smartphones running Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich or above and free to download from Google Play.
