How to Shave With Olive Oil

Shave With Olive Oil
As many as 62 percent of people claim to have sensitive skin at one stage or other. Sensitive skin can react poorly to the chemicals in commercial shaving creams and lotions; they can be strong enough to dry out and irritate sensitive skin, leaving you feeling uncomfortable and even more sensitive.
One solution is to turn to using olive oil; it's handy in the pantry, affordable, and it is a natural lubricant that not only makes it easier to shave your skin but it will also leave your skin smooth and soft. All-natural, budget-savvy, and moisturizing all-in-one, olive oil is a shaving solution you have got to try!

Commemorating 60 years of Pakistan - China friendship

The Pakistan - China friendship dates back to 21 May 1051 when Pakistan became one of the first group of countries to recognize China as an independent state. Since then, China and Pakistan have witnessed smooth development of friendly and neighbourly relations as well as mutually beneficial cooperation. These sixty years between 1951-2011 have shown the resolve between the two great countries to cement their ties more stronger every day that passes by.

Pakistan's President Ayub Khan with the Chinese premier Zhou Enlai on the Great Wall of China - 1964

The hallmark visit of President Ayub Khan to China in December 1964 opened a new era of friendship and long term partnership between the two countries. President Ayub was so warmly received by the Chinese that people still remember that warmth even today.

China today is the major trade partner and contributor of defence equipment to Pakistan. The recent joint venture of JF-17 Thunder multi-role jet aircraft has further cemented the ties between the two countries.

Commemorating the 60 years of long and tested friendship, the State Bank of Pakistan has issued a Rs.20 commemorative coin (above top) with effect from 21 May 2011 to celebrate year 2011 as the Pakistan-China friendship year. The coin has a diameter of 30 mm and weigh 9.5 grams. The obverse of the coin shows the waxing crescent and a five-pointed star facing northwest in rising position. The words - 2011, YEAR OF PAK CHINA FRIENDSHIP - in English is written on the top of coin.

The historic Abbey Road crossing by the Beatles

The Abbey Road crossing by the erstwhile the Beatles made headlines when the group was in peak of its glory and times. It has been 40 years since the historic crossing at around 11.35 AM on August 8, 1969 in the St John's Wood, North London. Fans still gather at the crossing to remember the Beatles Crossing and reminisce the good old memories.

While the actual crossing is still fresh in fans' memories, herein under are two photos - one before the crossing, when the Beatles are being readied for the cross over and the other during the crossing.

The set completes the before and during the crossing sequence. But don't be surprised to see the third photo, which is after the crossing.

Concept Plane: Supersonic Green Machine

See Explanation. Clicking on the picture will download the highest resolution version available.

What will passenger airplanes be like in the future? To help brain storm desirable and workable attributes, NASA sponsors design competitions.Shown here is an artist's depiction of a concept plane that has been recently suggested. This futuristic plane would be expected to achieve supersonic speeds, possibly surpassing the speeds of the supersonic transport planes that ran commercially in the late twentieth century. In terms of noise reduction, the future aircraft has been drawn featuring an inverted V wing stretched over its engines. The structure is intended to reduce the sound from annoying sonic booms. Additionally, future airplanes would aim to have relatively little impact on our environment, including green limits on pollution and fuel consumption. Aircraft utilizing similar design concepts might well become operational by the 2030s.

Commemorative stamps of Karakoram Mountain Range

Pakistan is a blessed country to have three of the major mountain ranges in the world, the Himalayas, the Karakoram and the Hindu Kush. Thirteen of the world's 30 tallest peaks are in Pakistan (of eleven over 8,000 meters high mountains tops, five are located in Pakistan). K-2, the world's biggest pyramid and second to Mt Everest and the Trango Towers are just the two examples of richness of our mountain treasure.
The Karakoram mountain range is spread over some 400 kilometres and over 192 kilometres wide. Protected Himalayas on south-east, Hindu-Kush on south-west, Kun-Lun chain of China on the north, the Pamirs on the west and high desolate Tibetan Plateau on the east, the Karakoram forms the greatest barrier on earth to the migration of the people. The junction point of the Karakorams and the Himalayas is shrouded by yet another mountain range, known as the Pir Panjal. The mighty Indus river, one of the fifteen longest rivers of the world, forces its way through the Karakorams and the Himalayas. The Karakorams are also known as the highest mountains range of the world since it houses seven peaks over 26,000 feet and thirty others over 25,000 feet. That is on an average the Karakoram tops are 25,000 feet and above.
The Pakistan Post issued a set of four stamps on 20th August 1981 describing four of its important mountain tops.
The Paisa 40 stamp (above) features Malubiting (also known as Malubiting West), which is the second highest peak in the Rakaposhi-Haramosh Mountains ( a sub range of the Karakoram). Malubiting rises above the north bank of the Indus River between its tributaries the Hunza River and the Shigar River. Malubiting lies about 40 km east-southeast of Rakaposhi, and about 50 km east of Gilgit. Malubiting rises steeply over the Phuparash River to the southwest, while on the east the large Chogo Lungma Glacier starts on its slopes.
The Re. 1 stamp (above) features Haramosh Peak of the Karakoram range, with a height of 7,409m. The top is located some 65 kilometres east of Gilgit, in the south-central region of the Rakaposhi-Haramosh Mountains. It rises steeply above the north bank of the Indus River, a little ways upstream of its confluence with the Gilgit River. The massif has two summits, Haramosh Peak and Haramosh Kutwal Laila Peak.
The third stamp (above) of Rs. 1.50 denomination features K6, or Baltistan Peak, located in the Masherbrum Mountains. Despite being much lower than its sister mountains, the Eight-thousanders and high 7000m peaks such as Masherbrum, it has huge, steep faces, and great relief above the nearby valleys, making it an impressive peak. K6 is the highest peak in the area surrounding the Charakusa Glacier, a region which has seen renewed climbing interest in recent years. This glacier lies at the head of the Hushe Valley, which in turn leads to the Shyok River and thence to the Indus River.
And finally the Rs. 2 stamp (above) that features the K2, the second-highest mountain on Earth after Mount Everest. With a peak elevation of 8,611 metres (28,251 ft), K2 is is located on the border between the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous County of Xinjiang, China and Gilgit, in Gilgit-Baltistan of Pakistan. Due to the difficulty of ascent, K2 is known as the Savage Mountain. It is also the second highest fatality rate among the 'eight thousanders'. K2 is also known as “Chogori” in local language and Mt Godwin Austin.

Postal history and old stamps of South Africa

The Republic of South Africa, previously The Union of South Africa, is a country located at the southern tip of Africa, with a coastline on the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. To the north lie Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe; to the east are Mozambique and Swaziland; while Lesotho is an independent country wholly surrounded by South African territory.

The first stamp of the Union of South Africa was a 2 1/2d stamp issued on 4 November 1910. However my collection starts with the stamps of South Africa (top left column) was issued in 1926 with SUIDAFRIKA written on top of it.

Fried Ice Cream

"We look for any excuse to celebrate. We look for any excuse to celebrate with food. This year I thought I'd share a recipe for deep fried ice cream. This is definitely one of those desserts that I don't make very often. In fact I rarely make anything that begins with "fried". My motto about dieting is: "if your going to go down...go BIG"
This would be considered one of my "BIGS". It's fabulous. You'll love it. ..."

The Sombrero Galaxy from Hubble

See Explanation. Clicking on the picture will download the highest resolution version available.
Credit: NASAESA, and the Hubble Heritage Team (STScI / AURA)

What's going on in the center of this spiral galaxy? Named the Sombrero Galaxy for its hat-like resemblance, M104 features a prominent dust lane and a bright halo of stars and globular clusters. Reasons for the Sombrero's hat-like appearance include an unusually large and extended central bulge of stars, and dark prominent dust lanes that appear in a disk that we see nearly edge-on

Billions of old stars cause the diffuse glow of the extended central bulge. Close inspection of the bulge in the above photograph shows many points of light that are actually globular clustersM104's spectacular dust rings harbor many younger and brighter stars, and show intricate details astronomers don't yet fully understand. The very center of the Sombrero glows across the electromagnetic spectrum, and is thought to house a large black hole

Fifty million-year-old light from the Sombrero Galaxy can be seen with a small telescope towards the constellation of Virgo.

RC Sukhoi Su-27 PU ( Su-30 ) Flanker-C with Thrust Vectoring

The development of SU series fighter aircraft by the USSR / Russia has opened a new chapter in the art of aircraft making and introducing a compatible fighter aircraft to compete the American F series aircraft.

Herein under is the RC model of SU-27 PU / SU-30 Flanker-C that also demonstrates its thrust vectoring capability. The SU series has progressed since the basic SU-27 series and now many more advanced versions like SU-35 are flying across the blue skies, adding new dimension to combat potential of a country.

Se the demonstration below - remember it is a RC version. The actual aircraft is much more maneuverable and deadly.

Stamps of Spain from my collection

Located on the Iberian Peninsula and southwestern Europe, Spain or the Kingdom of Spain (official name) is bordered to the south and east by the Mediterranean Sea except for a small land boundary with Gibraltar; to the north by France, Andorra, and the Bay of Biscay; and to the northwest and west by the Atlantic Ocean and Portugal. Spanish territory also includes the Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the African coast, and two autonomous cities in North Africa, Ceuta and Melilla, that border Morocco. Furthermore, the town of Llívia is a Spanish exclave situated inside French territory. With an area of 504,030 square kilometres (194,610 sq mi), it is the second largest country in Western Europe and the European Union after France.

Spain had a long history of almost 800 years of Moorish Muslim rule which gradually faded and replaced by the Christian kingdoms, finally extinguishing the last Muslim remnant in Granada in 1492, the same year Columbus reached the Americas.

Spain is a democracy organized in the form of a parliamentary government under a constitutional monarchy. It is a developed country with the twelfth largest economy in the world by nominal GDP, and very high living standards (20th highest Human Development Index), including the tenth-highest quality of life index rating in the world, as of 2005. It is a member of the United Nations, European Union, NATO, OECD, and WTO.

The first stamps of Spain were issued on 1 January 1850 and depicted Queen Isabella I. My collection of Spanish stamps has some 100 stamps, some of which are displayed above. I will share the remaining shortly. All stamps date back to the 1970s and before.

Prominent are the stamps with head of Francisco Paulino Hermenegildo Teódulo Franco y Bahamonde (1892-1975), simple known as Francisco Franco in the second and the third column from the left which were printed and issued in 1954 onwards. He was the king of Spain from 1936 to 1975 till the time of his death.

CREAMY CHEESY POTATOES

CREAMY CHEESY POTATOES
YOU WILL NEED:
About 5 – large potatoes
*enough to fill a 9×13 glass baking dih
1 pint whipping cream- 2 cups
Salt and Pepper
2 tsp. Parsley flakes
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
Directions:
Cut your potatoes into thin french fry strips, and lay the fries, in a 9×13″ glass pan. (Arctic circle type of thin!)
Pour all of the cream over the top of the fries. Salt and pepper them generously. Sprinkle at least 2 cups grated Cheddar Cheese over the top. Sprinkle Parsley flakes on top of the cheese. Cover with foil, and poke a fork through the top of the foil, 2 or 3 times to allow a little steam to escape. This way, your cream doesn’t boil over into your oven!
Cook at 400 degrees for about 1 hour, 15 minutes, or until potatoes are tender. Place your oven rack in the middle of the oven. During the last 15 or 20 minutes of baking lower your rack one more step. This makes the bottom of your potatoes, brown and crispy.

Collecting Model Cars

No matter what your age, collecting model cars can become an exciting hobby, but also a good investment as many toy cars increase value over time as they are collectible items. This hobby has been around almost as long as the automobile, and yet, it is still a passion of many!

Scaled models are manufactured in a range of scales such as 1:12, 1:18, 1:24, 1:32, 1:43, 1:64 and others. Cars that are especially attractive are those with a real eye to detail. Doors, hoods, trunks and fuel caps that open, ashtrays that slide out and glove compartments that work are some of the realized features. Some models of cars even have hanging ignition keys and removable hood pins to open the hood. Most have working car steering and suspension with real materials used in the interiors.

The best quality I enjoy about myself is my Passion for Cars. I love every single part about these street machines. I love the sound, speed and especially the looks of these rolling masterpieces. The inspiration of cars will never escape out of my mind. This quality about me will never change or alter in any way. I dream them, I feel them and I think about them all the free time I have. You would find Cars Magazines, Cars Brochures on my Shelves and Cars Posters on walls of my room.

Diecast car collection is my childhood passion and so far I have over 4000 car in my collection'. As I have been engaged with cars since childhood, there are so many pleasant memories with me such as contribution of my great father and mother, especially I miss my lovely mother very much, said good-bye to me (forever) after 2 months of my marriage. She was very caring and always promoted and appreciated my passion. She also educated me how to care things that is why I have my 30 years old toy cars with me today.

I really appreciate my parents and their efforts to promote my passion. They never refused whenever I asked for a Toy Car!

My favorite car is 1982 Pontiac Trans Am, which appeared in the Hollywood TV Series “Knight Rider”. This car used as K.I.T.T. (Knight Industries Two Thousand) in the Series.

It is my dream to drive world’s fastest sports car Bugatti Veyron. German inspection officials recorded an average top speed of the original version of 408.47 km/h (253.81 mph) during test sessions on the Ehra-Lessien test track on 19 April 2005. This top speed was verified by James May on Top Gear.

I would like to clear one thing here that it was much difficult to collect a huge number of die cast cars in Pakistan because of their non-availability.

Every new car model was very much important for me and it slept with me under my pillow till another one replaced it. Eid-ul-Fitr, the day full of excitement for me at each year because car models were presented to me as Eid gifts from my parents. Similarly, I always preferred to purchase car models from Eidy.

I have car models of yesteryears too, highlighting my collection as category of “Antique Cars”. I have also models of NASCAR, London Bus, London Taxi, American School Bus and Hollywood Movies Cars like (Knight Rider, Dukes of Hazard, Gone in 60 Seconds, The Italian Job, Fast & the Furious Series, Back to the Future, the animated movie CARS and various Cartoon Characters).

My father told me about the Matchbox dinky cars (Made in Great Britain) and Majorette dinky cars (Made in France) which were easily available at Super Stores in Lahore worth Rs.10/- in the year 1977-1978. The friction power Tin toy cars (Made in Japan) were also available in Pakistan in 70s and price was Rs.25/-. I have also few models of Tin toy cars.

This kind of treasure takes decades to build, hours and hours of care but if you have the passion then all that hard-work brings pleasure and always keeps a smile of satisfaction on your face.

I have also given my interviews on GEO, ARY, CITY42 and DUNYA, the famous TV channels of Pakistan.

Please visit my website http://www.mytoycars.weebly.com and have a look at my passion collection.

How much people travel by air

Ever wondered how much people travel by air and from where to where? Well I do not the number of people, but the amount of air traffic over the world during a 24 hours time frame would reveal the intensity of air traffic in various regions of the world.

Watch the video below and see how with the change in time in different regions, how air traffic moves from one place to another. Specially watch the Americas, Europe and the far East. It is amazing!!

Stamps of Jamaica

Jamaica, an island situated in the Caribbean Sea, about 145 kilometres south of Cuba, is spread over an area of 10,990 square kilometres. Its indigenous Arawakan-speaking Taíno inhabitants named the island Xaymaca, meaning the "Land of Wood and Water", or the "Land of Springs.

Once a Spanish possession known as Santiago, it became an English colony in 1655, known as "Jamaica". It achieved full independence in 1962. With 2.8 million people, it is the third most populous Anglophone country in the Americas, after the United States and Canada. It remains a Commonwealth realm with Queen Elizabeth II as head of state. The capital city of Kingston is also largest city of the country.

The postal history of Jamaica dates back to 1671 and became the first British colony to operate its own postal service. For overseas postal matters, the local planters typically preferred to entrust their letters directly to merchant ship captains.

-->

The actual use of stamps began on 8 May 1858, with stamps of Great Britain. In 1860, Jamaica started issuing its own stamps when De La Rue was commissioned to produce stamps for Jamaica, featuring Queen Victoria. The first issue consisted of five values ranging from one penny to one shilling, each with a different frame, inscribed "JAMAICA POSTAGE", and were watermarked with a pineapple design. They were first issued on 23 November 1860. Jamaica joined the Universal Postal Union on 1 April 1877. Upon independence in 1962, the 1956 stamps were overprinted "INDEPENDENCE" and "1962".

I am sharing three stamps of Jamaica; the one on the extreme left is the independence issue with the overprint. The centre one too issued on 6th August 1962 is an independence stamp.

Awesome RC Superhero

So far I have been sharing RC aeroplanes, motorboats and cars. But Neither have I ever seen a RC man nor shared one (obviously). But today I was amazed to see the RC Superhero, taking off vertically and flying in the air as the one shown in films. Thought of sharing with my viewers. I am dazed and amazed - so would you all.

A journey into the world beyond ours

The Known Universe takes viewers from the Himalayas through our atmosphere and the inky black of space to the afterglow of the Big Bang. Every star, planet, and quasar seen in the film is possible because of the world's most complete four-dimensional map of the universe, the Digital Universe Atlas that is maintained and updated by astrophysicists at the American Museum of Natural History. This new film, created by the Museum, is part of an exhibition, Visions of the Cosmos: From the Milky Ocean to an Evolving Universe, at the Rubin Museum of Art in Manhattan through May 2010.
